30 years and a million beers with Australia’s most unlikely rock and roll heroes.<br />
<br />
For 30 years, the Cosmic Psychos have blazed a trail of empty beer cans and busted ear drums around the globe with their quintessential Australian drawl and pounding punk rock songs.<br />
<br />
Fronted by Ross Knight, BLOKES YOU CAN TRUST tracks the band’s adventures along the rock and roll highway, from downtown Kyneton in rural Victoria, into some of New York’s finest S & M parlours and the Seattle grunge scene where they were highly influential. Nirvana were Psychos fans…they even played shows with Pearl Jam. But perhaps their biggest reputation was their ability to drink pubs dry, with word quickly spreading as a warning to other touring bands – “Never drink with the Psychos!”<br />
With appearances (and party tricks) by Eddie Vedder, Mudhoney, The Melvins, Butch Vig, Hard-Ons, L7 (to name but a few), this doco is a full frontal assault on the senses. Loud, rugged and entertaining Blokes You can Trust shows all of the Psychos’ highs and lows; riches and rip offs; line up changes and loss.<br />
<br />
As well as the colourful journey of a band, BLOKES YOU CAN TRUST reveals the personal story of founding member and frontman Ross Knight – musician, world champion<br />
weightlifter, the farmer with a bulldozer fetish and dedicated father. This is an extraordinary tale of Australia’s most unique cultural ambassadors, who sing about dead kangaroos, pubs and schnitzels. It’s a tribute to a country lad, a family man, still rocking and rolling, when most have retired to the couch.<br />
<br />
“Here’s 3 ugly lookin’ blokes, tourin’ the world, playing at all these wonderful cities, dining at all these wonderful restaurants, meeting all these famous people. In the back of ya head I’m thinking to myself ‘I’m a f***in’ farmer!’”<br />
ROSS KNIGHT – COSMIC PSYCHOS<br />
<br />
For 30 years, the Cosmic Psychos have blazed a trail of empty beer cans and busted ear drums around the globe with their quintessential Australian drawl and pounding punk rock songs. With the founding member Ross Knight finding inspiration from the Bulldozer he drove on the family farm in country Victoria, the band forged a unique sound and image that resonated with punk rock fans everywhere. Iconic label Sup Pop! released their second album when the band fell into the 'Seattle' scene of the late 80's amidst the likes of Pearl Jam, Mudhoney and The Melvins. Never quite finding the mainstream success of their grunge counterparts, the band managed to tour heavily in the USA and Europe thanks to a large and devoted fan base. The Cosmic Psychos were notorious for their ability to drink pubs dry, earning them a reputation that resonated around as a warning - "Never drink with the 'Psychos". But it wasn't all shits and giggles. A heavy falling out with drummer and founding member Bill Walsh resulted in a line-up change and a bitter dedication on their new album with the song 'Kill Bill'. They've been ripped off by several record labels, and dealt with the tragedy of the passing of guitarist Robbie Watts in 2006. But the band continues through all its adversity to remain strong to this day with Dean Muller on drums and John 'Mad Macca' McKeering from the Onya's taking care of the guitar duties. COSMIC PSYCHOS : BLOKES YOU CAN TRUST follows the bands colorful history, as well as the enigmatic and entertaining founding member Ross Knight, to get behind the man who rides the bulldozer. Farmer, Father, Weightlifter, and frontman. His story alone, and told from his perspective is a unique portrait of an unlikely and revered rock and roll bloke.<br />

Gatling Pictures' "Cure for Pain: The Mark Sandman Story" examines the life and work of Mark Sandman, deceased frontman of Boston "low rock" band Morphine. From his Newton, Mass., roots to his travels across America and around the globe, Sandman left an indelible imprint as one of the most distinctive musicians of his generation. Along with revisiting the "unique and sultry sound" of his music, the film explores the meaning of family through this critically praised and personally conflicted singer, songwriter and innovative instrumentalist.</div>

</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: verdana, arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: x-small; line-height: 18px;"></span></div><br />
<div style="text-align: justify;"> The Eternal is Sonic Youth’s 2009 celebration of newfound freedom. After many years signed to an ever precarious corporate label, the band has been liberated and is releasing this CD with their friends at Matador. Inspirations ran high in preparation for the recording. Abandoning the time tested routine of writing and rehearsing a cycle of songs in one time period, SY changed tactics and would compose two to three tracks one weekend and record them the following weekend. After a solid month they had a dozen killers.</div><div style="text-align: justify;">The writing took place in the Ecstatic Peace Folk + Cinema Basement in Northampton, MA and in the bands own Echo Canyon West in Hoboken, NJ. All recordings were done at Echo Canyon West with John Agnello at the board and Aaron Mullan in full assist. Agnello and band mixed the monster at Water Music in Hoboken. Greg Calbi mastered it beautifully at Sterling Sound in NYC.</div><div style="text-align: justify;">Twelve tunes that are a fireworks display of Sonic Youth touchstones. From the primal no wave attack of its earliest days, to the radical chording and song structures of its 90s period, to the more focused and contemporary explorations of the last five years.</div><br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">Sacred Trickster (2:10) – Out-of-the gate hardcore matinee track with Kim singing salutes to French painter Yves Klein and Western Massachusetts noise artist Noise Nomads.</div><div style="text-align: justify;">Anti-Orgasm (6:08) – Inspired by the story of Berlin 60s model/activist Uschi Obermeier and the gang at Kommune 1. Free love, dominance and submission, and other political states-of-confusion.</div><div style="text-align: justify;">Leaky Lifeboat (for Gregory Corso)(3:32) – The NYC beat poet Gregory Corso once referred to life on Earth as a leaky lifeboat. This tune expounds on this rumination.</div><div style="text-align: justify;">Antenna (6:13) – Melodious ode to fleeting fantasy and unresolved desire with the sound of two analogue radios communicating the emotional action.</div><div style="text-align: justify;">What We Know (3:54) – Charging forth with a riff in reference to Sonic's Rendezvous Band, Lee sings a triptych to identity and unity.</div><div style="text-align: justify;">Calming the Snake (3:35) – One of the first tracks written, musical references to the Dead C, the MC5 and Neu. Kim musing on visions of Death in painting.</div><div style="text-align: justify;">Poison Arrow (3:43) – Dedicated to the lust groove of Kevin Ayers where thoughts of love as pretty poison rejoice in surrealist deliverance.</div><div style="text-align: justify;">Malibu Gas Station (5:39) – An ode to the flash moment of the camera as you knowingly step from your SUV sans panties.</div><div style="text-align: justify;">Thunderclap for Bobby Pyn (2:38) – Flashing back to a wishful existence in the original Masque basement on N. Cherokee in Hollywood, crashing through lawns and garbage cans en route to the Canterbury/Disgraceland to jump up and down on beds with Helen Killer, Mary Rat and Trudi.</div><div style="text-align: justify;">No Way (3:52) – First song written for the album, with a nod to The Wipers of Portland, Oregon. A confrontation with the devil in his guise of temptation and staking a distinct place amongst the black legions.</div><div style="text-align: justify;">Walkin Blue (5:20) – Lee with his arm around yr shoulder, getting you through a seemingly impenetrable day of dread to a clear vision towards sweet foreverness.</div><div style="text-align: justify;">Massage the History (9:41) – The long way home, where blood rules the universe and time becomes myth.</div><br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">To jog your memory:</div><div style="text-align: justify;">Sonic Youth began way back in 1980 in the downtown disaster unit of NYC. First three records (Sonic Youth, Confusion is Sex, Kill Yr Idols) began in 1981 on the Neutral label started by Glenn Branca. They then signed to Gerard Cosloy’s Homestead imprint releasing Bad Moon Rising and the Flower/Halloween 12” to universal intrigue and acclaim. They switched labels to release records (Sister, Evol) on SST, the Southern California label overseen by Greg Ginn of Black Flag, while Mr. Cosloy went on to join Matador Records with Chris Lombardi. Concurrently they established a relationship with Paul Smith and Blast First Records in the UK co-releasing the Homestead and SST titles and culminating with the massive end of the decade double LP Daydream Nation, since added to the National Recording Registry at the Library of Congress. The band signed to DGC/Geffen in 1990 and began an ascendant affair there releasing Goo and Dirty to much heated excitement until the label became a scattered asylum. They continued to release strange, out-of –step recordings with Geffen throughout the 90s and early 2000s. Young wizard Jim O’Rourke came on board with the band as a multi-instrumentalist/producer collaborating on two of their most progressive LPS to date, Murray Street and Sonic Nurse, as well as the ongoing series of experimental LPs on the bands own SYR imprint. After Jim’s departure, and after releasing Rather Ripped, their final statement on Geffen (and which ranked third in Rolling Stone's Top 50 Albums of 2006) the band recruited their pal from compatriot 90s band Pavement, Mark Ibold, to play bass. After a solid bout of touring Mark joined the band in the recording of The Eternal. The cover art is a painting by the late, great American folk artist John Fahey. This is where we live forever. Sweet dreams.</div><br />

<br />
<b>This E.P. released in 1995 by SILVERCROSS RECORDS, was the first and the last from<br />
this band. It was a result of hard and dedicated work, which unfortunately was in vain.<br />
Among all of the bands on the Silvercross , Wulckdroff was reviewed by METAL HAMMER<br />
as the best band on their label and GOING GOING as their best release up to that point. There is no doubt,<br />
at least for me, that Wulckdroff was the best metal bend in Serbia ever. It is a real shame<br />
that they ended up with nothing, like so many before them, wrong place, wrong T T T TIME!</b><br />

Under the influence of the 80`s bands, new wave and punk rock, they developed a unique sound and style, unusual for the 90`s bands. I was lucky enough to b there when it all was happening, even jam with them. Unfortunately i have nothing but this four track demo recording, songs are written in serbian, that`s how Misha (guitar and vocals) and Peca (vocals, and a great person i will never forget), liked they`re gloomy rock`n`roll. Accompanied by Tjili on drums, Zeka on bass, they played for a couple of years in Belgrade <br />
area, and just when everything seemed to be going for them, that`s when it all suddenly stopped. Hopefully i`ll get my hands on their live material, if i find it, and i surely will.<br />
